We’re hiring enthusiastic, reliable individuals to help make the Gulf Coast Cat Expo a success! All positions are 1099 contractor roles with flat daily rates paid after the event.
Event Date: September 26, 2027
Location: TBD – Mississippi Gulf Coast
Available Positions
Information & Merch Booth Staff (1 positions)
Rate: $200 for the day
Hours: 8am – 7pm
Responsibilities
- Sell event merchandise (t-shirts, stickers, pins, etc.)
- Process cash and card payments
- Answer attendee questions and provide directions
- Keep merchandise display organized and stocked
- Provide excellent customer service
Ideal Candidate
- Retail or sales experience helpful
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable with cash handling and point-of-sale systems
- Able to stand for extended periods
Photographer / Content Creator
Rate: $250 for the day
Hours: 10am – 6pm
Responsibilities
- Capture professional photos throughout the event including, but not limited to:
- Gulf Coast Cat Expo founder (aka Founder) with For Pet’s Sake Rescue representative (aka Rep)
- Rep at the For Pet’s Sake Rescue raffle booth with raffle prizes
- Founder and/or Rep with sponsor branding spotlighted
- Each vendor booth
- Information and Merch booth
- Capture video content for social media
- Document vendors, attendees, and key moments
- Provide edited photos within 2 weeks after event
Ideal Candidate
- Professional photography experience
- Own camera equipment and editing software
- Fast turnaround on photo editing
- Portfolio of event photography
How to Apply
All positions are independent contractor (1099) roles. You will receive the flat daily rate paid immediately after the event via Venmo or Cashapp.

What You Need to Know
Payment Structure:
- All positions are 1099 independent contractors
- Flat daily rates (no hourly wages)
- Payment issued immediately after the event via check
- You will receive a W-9 form to complete if your payment exceeds $600+
- 1099 forms issued in January 2028 for anyone paid $600+
What to Bring:
- Comfortable shoes (you’ll be on your feet!)
- Event Staff t-shirt provided and required while working the event
- Cat-themed accessories encouraged but not required
- Positive attitude and team spirit
- Valid ID for contractor paperwork
